Fabian Ramos and Mia Garcia-Second Presentation: Elections Matter

(Fabian) Hi everyone. Fabian here again. In this second and sadly, last blog post of this incredible class, I will tell you about our second presentations that were based on our special project called: Elections Matter.  I have to admit that when at the beginning of the semester Professor Sinkoff announced that we would have some presentations about the elections, I was very excited since I am very passionate about politics, and being able to talk about this in a class and have it been a part of my grade caused me to be happy. However, when I started hearing that it was not only a presentation but also a brochure and special event, my happiness went down a little, I started to think “How will I make that brochure?” and I was also thinking “What exactly is this famous special event?” I was wrong, these presentations and all the activities that went along with them were extremely amazing. Hey everyone, Daniel here! I'm excited to share my experience with our recent group presentations in Public Speaking class. It's been quite a journey, and I've learned so much from both my group's presentation and those of my classmates. Our group was assigned chapters 4, 5, 6, and 8 from our textbook, covering a wide range of topics related to speech preparation and delivery. I was in charge of presenting on conducting research interviews, evaluating research materials, recognizing and avoiding plagiarism, and connecting ideas with transitions. My teammates covered other crucial aspects like developing purpose and topic, brainstorming ideas, evaluating and selecting topics, preparing for research, using specialized search engines, organizing speech content, and supporting ideas.
